The Graph Expands Data Tools for Avalanche Developers

The Graph Network expands subgraph support and further diversifies query potential, giving Avalanche developers yet another powerful option

As of today, Edge & Node and The Graph Foundation have expanded subgraph support on The Graph Network to include Avalanche and 40+ widely used blockchains. Avalanche developers can now use The Graph’s decentralized network more easily than ever for lower costs and competitive syncing times.

This opens new doors for Avalanche builders. Subgraphs are essentially databases of dApp-specific data available for querying for developers using GraphQL. After incorporating subgraphs, developers don’t have to run nodes and can greatly trim setup costs. With this update, Avalanche subgraph developers can begin querying The Graph Network virtually immediately after upgrading from the hosted service.

The robustness of The Graph Network stems from decentralized physical infrastructure with independent Indexers around the world. This approach gives developers access to a resilient and fault-tolerant system, capable of maintaining high-quality service without the common pitfalls of centralized systems.

“It’s incredible to watch The Graph Network’s multichain evolution unfold,” said Tegan Kline, CEO of Edge & Node. “More chain ecosystems than ever are now equipped with open access to blockchain data, empowering people to gain control over the data they need, on their own terms. The availability of many chains including Avalanche…marks a major step towards full network integration, and builds upon The Graph’s multichain expansion.”

This announcement arrives on the heels of more upcoming releases benefitting Avalanche developers, such as a free query plan, an upgrade wizard, and more as part of The Graph’s Sunrise initiative

About The Graph

The Graph is the indexing and query layer of Web3. Developers build and publish open APIs, called subgraphs, that applications can query using GraphQL. The Graph currently supports indexing data from over 40 different networks including NEAR, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, Celo, Fantom, Moonbeam, IPFS, Cosmos Hub and PoA with more networks coming soon. To date, 74,000+ subgraphs have been deployed on the hosted service. Tens of thousands of developers use The Graph for applications such as Uniswap, Synthetix, KnownOrigin, Art Blocks, Gnosis, Balancer, Livepeer, DAOstack, Audius, Decentraland, and many others.

About The Graph Foundation

The Graph Foundation is overseen by The Graph Council and facilitates growth for The Graph Network. The Graph Foundation works with eight core development teams (Edge & Node, StreamingFast, Semiotic Labs, The Guild, Messari, GraphOps, Geo, and Pinax), several community DAOs, and ecosystem contributors to help deliver The Graph’s vision.
