Japanese enterprise Loyalty Marketing will partner with blockchain services provider PlayThink to bring Loyalty Marketing’s popular loyalty rewards program, “Ponta”, on chain by the end of 2023 using Avalanche’s novel Subnet infrastructure. The Subnet aims to provide Web3 services to Loyalty Marketing’s approximately 100 million user accounts, including mass scale issuance and distribution of digital collectibles like NFTs.

PlayThink and Loyalty Marketing chose Avalanche and its Subnet infrastructure because they valued having EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) smart contract compatibility while also being able to leverage Avalanche’s ultra-fast time-to-finality. Subnets are also highly customizable, allowing Playthink and Loyalty Marketing to tailor-make a high speed blockchain for a multitude of services to hundreds of millions of users.

The new Subnet plans to deliver a seamless on-boarding experience suitable for mass adoption. Users do not have to acquire digital assets to participate in the expanded rewards experience built around NFT-based games, offers, and collectibles.

At launch, the Ponta Subnet will be operated as a consortium model, whereby PlayThink and Loyalty Marketing act as the primary validators of the Subnet’s activity.  Playthink and Loyalty Marketing have partnered with Ava Labs to launch the Subnet through its AvaCloud services division, which is a managed blockchain service enabling teams to rapidly build, deploy, and scale decentralized networks for any use case.
