This November 2-3, Avalanche will provide blockchain and metaverse support at Hong Kong FinTech Week 2023 (HKFTW). The event’s host, InvestHK, a Hong Kong government department focused on foreign investment, is using Avalanche and Alibaba’s Cloudverse solution for this metaverse. It will drop attendees into a digital Hong Kong-centric world crafted by MUA DAO, letting them experience this premier Asia-Pacific tech event in novel ways. 

Organized by InvestHK, FintechHK, and the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, HKFTW is one of the largest fintech events in Asia. The event expects over 30,000 attendees, 500+ industry thought leaders, 700+ fintech exhibitors, 500+ Global Fast Track Fintech Companies, and 250+ media outlets.

The new C-Chain-powered metaverse will reflect a blend of Hong Kong's culture and tech innovation, redefining fintech in the metaverse for InvestHK. Avalanche’s support for the Hong Kong FinTech Week 2023, along with the establishment of the 23HKFTW metaverse venue, underscores the continued expansion of Avalanche into the Asia-Pacific region.

The HKFTW metaverse initiative may reach as many as 16.3 million users (the estimated cumulative reach of the event), and organizers have prepared for a projected 30,000 metaverse players. It will remain open once the two-day event has finished.

In the first half of 2023, Avalanche, in partnership with Alibaba Cloud and MUA DAO, unveiled Cloudverse — a one-stop, end-to-end solution empowering businesses to effortlessly customize, launch, and sustain their metaverse spaces.

InvestHK’s metaverse marks the first governmental use of Cloudverse.
